Subject: Quiet streets of Saint Remy in the off peak season. It was hard to find a favorite corner of this town beacuse they were all magnificent. 

 

History: Vincent van Gogh spent a year at the asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Although it was a time when he struggled with his mental illness. Despite relapses, Vincent was exceptionally productive at Saint-Rémy, where he completed around 150 paintings in the space of a year; including starry night.
